Steps 1 and 2 Survey and Notification
Pre-abatement survey documents all ACM to be removed. Regulatory notification required for projects above NESHAP thresholds.
Steps 3 and 4 Containment and Negative Air
Work area sealed with 6-mil polyethylene sheeting. HEPA-filtered air movers create negative pressure preventing fiber escape to surrounding areas.
Steps 5 and 6 Removal and Decontamination
Workers in full PPE wet-remove all ACM. All workers and equipment pass through the decontamination unit. Work clothing is bagged inside the contaminated area.
Steps 7 and 8 Disposal and Clearance
All ACM waste double-bagged and transported to a permitted landfill. Third-party clearance air samples confirm abatement success before containment removal.
