Compounding pharmacies, labs, and cleanrooms demand the most controlled flooring of any commercial space: seamless, non-shedding, chemically resistant, and often static-dissipative. A specialized epoxy system gives Houston-area facilities a surface engineered to meet strict sanitary and contamination-control standards.
Why Cleanrooms Need a Specialized Floor
In a pharmacy compounding area or cleanroom, the floor is part of the contamination-control envelope. It cannot shed particles, harbor microbes in seams, or react with the chemicals used in compounding. Ordinary VCT tile and its grid of seams is the opposite of what these environments require. A monolithic epoxy floor with an integral cove base creates a continuous, cleanable surface from wall to wall.
What We Engineer Into These Floors
Seamless and Non-Shedding
We install a self-leveling epoxy that cures into a smooth, pore-free surface with no seams to trap particles or microbes. An integral cove base curves the floor up the wall so there are no square corners anywhere in the room.
Chemical Resistance
Compounding involves alcohols, solvents, and aggressive cleaning agents. Our high-solids systems resist these without staining or breaking down, keeping the surface intact through repeated sanitizing.
ESD / Static Control
Where sensitive electronics or ignition-risk compounds are present, we install static-dissipative systems with a grounded conductive layer that safely bleeds off static charge — the same ESD approach used in data and electronics environments.
Low-VOC and fast return: We use low-odor systems and phase installation so sterile and production areas can be brought back online quickly under your facility s protocols.
Slip Safety and Cleanability
These floors must be cleanable yet safe when wet during washdown. We tune a fine, controllable texture that balances traction with the smoothness needed for particle control — see our anti-slip coating guide for how we calibrate it.
Installed to Last in Houston
Slab moisture is the enemy of a seamless floor. We perform moisture testing and diamond grinding on every project so the system bonds permanently and never blisters, avoiding the delamination that would compromise a controlled environment. For multi-room facilities, our full commercial coating services handle the entire build.
