What the Day Looks Like
A 3-car garage is typically a full single-day install — 8–10 hours including diamond grinding prep, base coat, flake broadcast, and polyaspartic topcoat. With polyaspartic's fast cure times:
- Light foot traffic: 24 hours after completion
- Vehicle parking: 48–72 hours
- Full hardness: 72 hours
Prep: Empty the Garage
Everything needs to come out — all vehicles, equipment, boxes, shelving contents. We can work around fixed cabinets and shelving but can't grind and coat under items on the floor. The night before install, your garage should be empty to the walls. Plan parking for 2–3 vehicles off-site for 48–72 hours.
Tip for 3-car garage logistics: Move vehicles the evening before. We start early — and the grinding equipment is loud. Having everything clear and accessible from the moment we arrive makes the job go faster and gives the coating maximum drying time before the end of the day.
What Makes 3-Car Garages Different
The main difference is square footage — the work is the same, just more of it. One thing to watch: expansion joints. Most 3-car garages have one or more control joints (seams in the concrete).
